Marblehead, Part 1

Wednesday, June 4, 2014

There is no vacation like a family vacation.  I'm the oldest of five kids and when we get together craziness ensues.  This past weekend we spent 4 days in Marblehead. Unfortunately two of our siblings and their partners couldn't make it this round but I'm holding out hope that we can all be together for our trip back to Marblehead later this summer.  Don, Addy and I lived in Marblehead when we first moved to Massachusetts and it was very hard to leave.  It takes us about 50 minutes to get back to Marblehead now, so we go pretty often.  If you haven't been before, I hope the photos I will be sharing this week give you an idea of what a beautiful town it is.  I'd love to share some info if anyone has questions before going out.

If you'd like a peak at this harbor town in the winter see these old posts here,  here and here.

Little Home Details

Friday, May 30, 2014

I'm checking in to say hello from the midst of the "Unpack".  Sometimes it helps to look at all of the pleasant little details around the house, instead of the avalanche of boxes looming from every wall.  I can at least start each day with made beds, a good breakfast, a beautiful view, a few tidy kitchen items and a lovely warm cup of tea.

We are leaving tomorrow for a few days in Marblehead with family.  I need to breathe in the salty air and walk the old streets.  Addy keeps talking about her favorite cafe and the cookie she will get there.  A choice cookie is essential for a kid expecting to have a good time.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

MFA Boston & Castle Island

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Well it's the unofficial start of the Summer and we had a great Memorial Weekend.  We headed to the Museum of Fine Art and then to Castle Island for a picnic of fries and ice cream!  A lovely start to what I anticipate will be a great Summer.  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend wherever you are.
