Are we fulfilling a generational destiny in our desire to retire to farm country? Or is this just what happens when you reach your 30's? I'm not dreaming of the big city so much these days...more the escape from said city. Doesn't it seem that everyone you know is also lusting after that little bit of land with a few roaming chickens, a dog, some barn cats and a lambie or two? Maybe it's the transformation of becoming a parent but my dreams tend to settle on idyllic little plots. Until I have my own Dr. Doolittle sanctuary I'll just play tourist, roaming each farm that dots these New England towns...whiling away those days at weeks end, with a wheat stalk in my mouth and cool grass underfoot. Ah, the life.

next time you guys are here, just stay with me and E instead of at Mom's! you can stay in the barn apt! waking up at the farm is the greatest!
HI Rachel,
I found you from BYW and LOVE your photographs! They are gorgeous! I also love your "tag line" where you wrote,
"I was once a mermaid
who lived in shining sea.
The Moon, he shone and winked, the stars
played a lullaby for me."
I live by the sea and my friends and I often refer to ourselves as mermaids. Nice to meet you here!
Laura
